bad weatherWorking at a trade show can be a great way to improve your customer base and get your product out there to a larger number of people, but when the weather starts to turn getting to those trade shows can be a bit of a problem. That's why it's important to look at everything you can to make a plan even if the weather gets bad.

Planning Your Supplies

One of the first things you want to to is plan what you're taking with you to the trade show. You want to make sure that it's all going to fit into one vehicle, even if you have more than one person coming to help you at the show. That way, if your partner isn't able to get there because of the weather you can still carry off a great exhibit.

Make it Memorable

It's not just your people who might not be able to make it to the trade show. Keep in mind that you might get fewer other people there to look at your products as well. that means you want to make sure you show off your products as well as possible and you want those people to remember you. The more they remember you the more great things you're going to make out of a less than ideal situation.

Keep it Simple

Don't try to get too elaborate with a whole lot of things you'll have to carry in and out of the trade show to set up or take down. Keep things a little more simple than you might have been planning so that you can highlight the product and so you don't have to worry as much about the transportation of your products or anything else. You'll be able to set up quickly and get started just like that.

Get People Involved

Remember, these people had to come through some pretty bad weather in order to get to you and that means you want to make sure you get them involved in what you're doing. Maybe it's having a cup of coffee or hot chocolate waiting for them. Maybe it's some cookies or another snack. Whatever it is, they're going to appreciate something warm or something small to eat that will reward them for driving through that bad weather. Not to mention it's going to draw them over to your booth and at that point you can talk to them about what you have to offer.

Getting people to your table or booth is the most important thing, and with a little creativity you can definitely get that done. Even when the weather is bad, you want to make sure you have a great show.
