Dont Make These Trade Show Exhibit Design MistakesIf you want to have a successful trade show exhibit and get the best return on your investment, avoid making these 4 mistakes.

With the amount of time and money you put into your trade show exhibit, promotional materials, and staffing, you are probably expecting remarkable results, right? As effective as exhibiting at trade shows can be for promoting your business and boosting your brand, there are still plenty of mistakes that I have witnessed at least one or two exhibitors making at every show I have gone to. To get the most out of your booth, stop yourself from making the following mistakes.

1. Too Much Clutter

Even if you have a tight fitting display, having a cluttered booth can make a huge difference in how many people stop by your exhibit. Use literature stands, shelves, and counter space to keep your booth organized and neat in order to create the illusion of a more spacious booth.

2. Untrained Staff

Not only should your staff know everything there is to know about the products or services, but they also need to know how to approach attendees. If the staff comes off too strong and tries to sell the products or services as soon as they come within the vicinity of your display booth, it could scare off your potential customers. Train your staff how to interact with attendees in order to get the best results. For ideas on how to train your staff, check out my article on how to prepare your staff to rock the trade show.

3. Promoting More Than One Marketing Message

The best trade show exhibit themes are the simplest ones. By this, I mean incorporating too many marketing messages throughout your booth can be confusing for your audience. It can also overwhelm attendees by having too much going on. Keep it simple and decide on one message and theme per event in order for attendees to easily understand what it is your company does, what products or services you have to offer, and/or what new products or services your company has just launched.

4. Unprofessional Graphics

You only have a few seconds to grab the attendee s attention, so the graphics will be one of the first things they notice about your booth. If your graphics look like an amateur designed them, they could lead your audience to believe your business is low budget and doesn t contain quality products. Even if you are on a budget, it would be in your best interest to invest in trade show display graphic design services. By having a professional design them for you, they will know how to create picture-perfect graphics that will show your potential customers that your company is professional.
