Using Trade Shows to Launch New ProductsThe perfect place to launch a new product is at trade shows and expos. The reason being that there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of people under one roof, giving your product and company the exposure needed. As effective as trade show exhibiting can be, there is a right and wrong way to do it. Follow these tips in order to be effective at these events and get your new product the publicity needed.

Use an Effective Trade Show Display
When designing a trade show display, keep in mind how much space will be needed. Do you have room to display your products? How about to present a demonstration? Will attendees have room to move around or will they be bumping into one another? These are all questions you should ask yourself when deciding what booth is right for you. Many exhibitors prefer custom displays because they do allow them to create an open layout that is inviting to attendees, yet also has shelves to display products. For those exhibitors who want a custom display, but aren’t ready to buy one, rental displays offer the same benefits for a fraction of the cost.

Choose the Trade Show Wisely
Participating in an expo just because it is in your area could be a huge waste of money and time. Research the event ahead of time to determine if your target audience will be in attendance. Also, get an idea of how large the trade show is and what companies will be exhibiting in order to get an idea of whether or not your company is ready to exhibit alongside these businesses. If your company is not quite ready to take on the big competitors at a large show, a smaller, more intimate event may be more your speed. Don’t Forget Pre-Show Marketing
Pre-show marketing is one of the most important things you can do to get your target audience and customers to the event. This strategy could be as simple as doing a social media blast on all of your accounts or you could go a step further and send out postcards with information about your trade show booth, including the booth number and time and date of the show. If you have a website, make sure to also create a landing page that is dedicated to your exhibit. In order to get traffic and results at the show, this step can’t be ignored.
Use Giveaways and/or Samples

Give attendees something to remember your product by. This could be a smaller model of the product or a discount on the item. Some exhibitors have also found success by holding drawings for the brand-new product. Whatever you decide to do, letting potential customers take something home with them is a fantastic way to stay in their minds when they are ready to make a purchase.
